Gospel Conversations May Turn Personal

Preacher: Dr Denny Lie

Series: Gospel Conversations

Key Passage: Acts 21:37-22:30

Gathering: 11:30am Service

Sermon Divisions:

  • Incorporating personal stories into gospel conversations is a useful, effective way to reach people and connect them to the message of the gospel.

  • However, let us remember that our stories are merely instruments or vehicles through which the grace and love of Jesus Christ are revealed. The centrepiece in every gospel conversation should always be the story of salvation through Christ.

  • Our stories should stir hearts towards Jesus, leading to the acknowledgement of His grace and the acceptance of His salvation.

Reflection Question:

  • If you had a chance to share your personal story in a gospel conversation, what would it be?

  • Have you ever been rejected/judged/exploited after sharing a personal story in a gospel conversation?

  • Discuss other risks and dangers associated with incorporating personal stories in gospel conversations.
